What this workshop actually is

Not a fitness class. Not a treatment session.

The Painkiller Level 1 Workshop is a skill-transfer session. You leave with the ability to assess your own movement, identify the specific muscle groups that are failing you, and run a targeted exercise protocol correctly for your body, not a generic YouTube routine that may or may not apply to your situation.

Level 1 pairs directly with Book 0. If you’ve read it and want to make sure you’re executing correctly with someone watching your form in real time, this is the session for that.

Who this is for

This workshop is for you if

  • You have chronic desk-work pain (lower back, neck, or shoulder) that hasn't resolved after months of massage, stretching, or physio sessions that didn't stick
  • You've read Book 0 (or similar pain education material) and want hands-on guidance to ensure you're performing the exercises correctly
  • You're a personal trainer, yoga instructor, Pilates teacher, or sports therapy professional who wants to add pain assessment and corrective exercise knowledge to your practice

Not the right fit if

  • You have an acute injury (recent fall, accident, sudden trauma)
  • You've had spinal surgery and haven't received medical clearance to exercise
  • You're experiencing severe neurological symptoms (limb weakness, full-leg numbness) that haven't been assessed by a physician

Not sure which category you're in? Register for the waitlist and note your symptoms. The team will follow up before your seat is confirmed.

Workshop levels

Painkiller Level 1: Beginner (half-day)

For individuals who want to understand and manage their own pain. Outcome: you leave able to assess and correct yourself. Pairs directly with Book 0.

Painkiller Pro (2 full days, Sat–Sun)

For fitness and health professionals who want to apply this knowledge with clients. Outcome: you leave able to guide clients through their own movement self-assessment, identify the patterns that need work, and build a basic corrective exercise program around what they find. A deeper, two-day track.

November 2026 · ~฿20,000 per person · final pricing announced to waitlist members first.

How the 3-hour session is structured (Level 1)

  • Lecture: 1 hour. The mechanism of chronic pain, the Capacity vs. Demand model, how to read your body's signals, and how to distinguish problems you can self-manage from those that need a doctor.
  • Practice: 1 hour 30 minutes. You assess your own weak points, work through the 5 foundational exercises, and get immediate form feedback from the coaching team. This is the part where you find out whether you've been doing it right.
  • Q&A: 30 minutes. Open questions about your specific symptoms, your current exercise program, or anything the lecture didn't cover.

The pairs model: and why it matters

The practice block is the core of this workshop. Having a partner makes it significantly more effective.

Here’s why: self-assessment has a blind spot. The movement pattern you think you’re performing is often not the one your body is actually producing. A partner watching from the outside catches what you can’t see in yourself. You assess each other, spot each other’s form, and correct together.

Coming as a pair also cuts the cost. ฿1,450 per person instead of ฿2,000 solo.

If you’re coming alone: note it when you register. The team will assign a personal coach to pair with you for the entire practice block. These coaches come from the Jern Fitness and Moov Bangkok team. They’ve been through the same training. Solo attendees receive the same quality of feedback as participants who came with a partner.

What you'll be able to do after this workshop

  1. Assess your own movement. Identify which specific muscle groups are underactive or weak, not just where it hurts.
  2. Execute exercises correctly. Know which muscle you're supposed to feel working, and recognize when you're compensating with the wrong one.
  3. Self-direct your progression. Know when to advance to a harder variation and when to dial back, based on what you're actually feeling, not guessing.
  4. Read your own pain signals. Distinguish productive training fatigue from warning signals that need attention.
  5. Manage flare-ups. When pain returns, adjust your protocol intelligently instead of stopping everything and waiting.

Logistics

  • Venue: Moov Bangkok, Phayathai, Bangkok
  • Group size: 10-12 participants per cohort. Small enough for real coaching attention.
  • What to wear: Exercise clothes. Socks required. No training shoes needed.
  • Before the session: You'll receive a pre-test questionnaire to complete before the session date. This lets the team understand your symptom profile before you walk in.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the workshop cost?

Painkiller Level 1 (half-day) is ฿2,000 per person solo, or ฿2,900 per pair (฿1,450 per person). Painkiller Pro (2 full days, Sat-Sun, November 2026) is approximately ฿20,000 per person; final pricing is announced to waitlist members before public release.

Do I need to bring a partner?

No. You can attend alone. Just let us know when you register. We'll assign a personal coach to work with you during the practice block. If you do have someone to bring, you'll both save on the entry price and the practice session runs better when you can observe and spot each other.

Who is this workshop for?

It's designed for two groups. First: individuals with chronic musculoskeletal pain from desk work, repetitive loading, or years of the wrong kind of exercise, who want to understand the root cause and learn to self-manage it. Second: fitness professionals (personal trainers, yoga and Pilates instructors, sports therapy assistants) who want to add structured pain assessment skills to their practice. It is not for acute injuries or anyone in post-surgical recovery without medical clearance.

Where is the workshop held?

Moov Bangkok, Phayathai, Bangkok. If future cohorts move to a new venue, waitlist members will be notified in advance.

When is the next cohort?

Painkiller Level 1 runs its first cohort in July 2026 (the exact weekend is being decided by a public vote between 18-19 and 25-26 July). Painkiller Pro runs in November 2026. Join the waitlist to be notified and book before seats go public. While you wait, Book 0 covers the same foundational material in written form, so you'll get considerably more out of the practice block.
